cast-bronze axe head of the characteristic
'duckbill' form with a pair of openwork hafting
slots behind stocky blade. This wideaxehead
bears enormous 'eyes' in the center. These ovoid perforations increase aerodynamic efficiency when swung. A rich layer of mottled brown,
russet, and green patina covers this weapon
